Rated ‘good’ by OFSTED in June 2019, our school is in a semi-rural setting at the heart of the Claydons, within easy reach of Buckingham and the surrounding villages. We have approximately 170 pupils ranging from 4 to 11 years old. We also have a thriving nursery for children from 2 and a half years old.
Steeple Claydon Nursery School provides care and education for children from 2½ to 5 years of age (Places for 2 year olds available where meeting the Government funding criteria). Funding is available for all children from the term after their third birthday. The nursery school is managed by the school Governing Body and Head Teacher. Our nursery is popular and we do often have a waiting list for places so please contact us early to ensure that we can offer you the childcare you need.
Reception is the first experience of school for children starting their journey with us.

Message from our Head teacher
Here at Steeple Claydon Primary School, our pupils are welcoming, well behaved and enthusiastic – they are all ‘Steeple Stars!’ We take pride in ensuring we provide them with a rich, creative and engaging learning journey from nursery to year 6. We want our pupils to achieve highly not only academically but also socially, emotionally, creatively and physically as well as in the skills of being a lifelong learner.
Underpinning all of this is our commitment to ensure that our ‘Steeple Stars’ leave us with the values that will enable them to live successfully in society and prepare them to be positive, active citizens within their local, national and global communities.
Of course we are only a part of your child’s life and so we are very keen to work closely with parents, families and the wider Steeple Claydon community to ensure every child’s needs are fully catered for and their potential is realised.
Please get in touch if you would like to come and visit. We would be happy to show you round the school when it is ‘in action’ so you can fully appreciate the wonderful things that happen here!
If you have any feedback on the presentation, usefulness and accessibility of the information here, please don’t hesitate to contact us. I hope this website gives you an indication of the welcoming, vibrant, hardworking school we are and the high standards we strive to maintain.
