HEADTEACHER’S NEWSLETTER

Here we are at the end of the Spring Term already! Thank you to everyone who attended the Easter Service at St Michael’s Church yesterday. I was sad to have to miss it but I’m told that the children sang beautifully and shared some lovely Spring and Easter themed items. Well done to everyone involved and thank you to those parents who helped with the walk to and from the church. I hope you all have a super Easter break and we look forward to welcoming you back to school on Tuesday 18th April.

Safeguarding update

As we move into the Summer Term and children are likely to be out and about more on their bikes and scooters, please be reminded that it is essential that they wear a helmet. A parent has reported to us today that she witnessed a ‘near miss’ this morning when a neighbour was starting to back slowly out of their drive and three children (identity unknown) were cycling and scooting at great speed down the hill towards school, all without helmets. They were going too fast for the driver to have seen them and they could easily have been knocked off their bikes if the parent had not alerted the driver to the danger. Please ensure your children take great care when cycling and scooting around the village and they always wear a helmet!

With more time off during the Easter break, we expect that children will be spending more of their free time on screens.  If your children are socialising online, it’s worth bearing the tips for adopting safe and healthy online habits in mind

Exciting staff news!

Please join us in offering our congratulations to Miss Bray (teaching assistant in Years 1 and 4) who will be getting married over the Easter holiday and will return as Mrs Kate Rowe.

Congratulations also to Mrs Pattison and her husband who are expecting their first baby in September! Mrs Pattison will complete the year teaching Year Six and will start her maternity leave at the beginning of next academic year.
