HEADTEACHER’S NEWSLETTER

Welcome to the first of two rather festive issues of my newsletter! We have kicked off our Christmas events this week with three wonderful nativity performances by the children from Reception and KS1 (one for the KS2 pupils and two for parents and families). Despite being low on numbers due to illness, the children performed beautifully, sang superbly and left us thoroughly entertained! Particular congratulations to the Year 1 children who stepped up to take on a Year 2 speaking part at the last minute with little to no rehearsal time and to the Year 2 narrators who had to take on double the amount of lines when their fellow narrators were off sick too! Good luck in today’s raffle and huge thanks to everyone who has bought and sold tickets!

Christmas Tree Festival

Our Eco Club members and EYFS pupils have made decorations for our trees at the Steeple Claydon Christmas Tree Festival this weekend. This is taking place at the church from 3pm on Sunday. It is always a really festive event with lovely trees on display so we hope you enjoy it!

Some reminders about next week’s Christmas events

  • Christmas party day for YR-Y6 is on Thursday the 15th – children should wear a festive party outfit which they can do PE/Forest School in if they have them that day!
  • The KS2 Carol Concert on Wednesday has been moved to the time of 5pm in order to avoid the World Cup semi-final! Children should wear their school uniform with a Christmas accessory (tinsel, hat etc as they will get too hot in a Christmas jumper!)
